Visas come in many forms, so it is very important to obtain the appropriate visa for what you intend to do. Not all countries offer the same types of visas and it depends on the nationality, however it is necessary to check your embassy about the visa requirements before entering and traveling to China. Please note that passport must be valid for at least 6 months after your departure date.

You are advised to ensure that your visa is valid before travel. If your visa has expired or the visa has insufficient number of entries, you need to apply for a new visa. You can apply for a visa at a Chinese Embassy or the Chinese Consulate General, or the China Visa Application Centre. You can apply for an ordinary visa at the Chinese Visa Application Service Centre.
Generally speaking, you are encouraged to submit your application and collect your passport in person. If it is impossible for you to do so, you may entrust someone else to do it for you (no need for a power of attorney) providing that you have prepared all the documents required.
