Neptune Cargo Network, the world’s first NVOCC and LCL cargo network, successfully held its Kick-off Meeting last March 07 – 10, 2017 at Shangri-La Bangkok, Thailand that was attended by 140 sea freight professionals and consolidators representing 50 countries worldwide.
The recently held 4-day conference was a good start for the network. Members of the network were able to finally meet each other for the first time. The program was designed to include face-to-face meetings, group outing and various other networking opportunities to build relationships with network members worldwide.
Network members showed up at the welcome cocktail reception, and at exactly 6 PM, it was a nice occasion to break the ice a little before our formal introduction day started the day after.
In the morning of the formal network introduction, Nils took the chance to explain how Neptune Cargo Network concept came about, how it is managed and he was able to invite VIP members from all continents of the world to introduce themselves to the membership pool. Presenting companies were Cardinal Maritime, IFS, Famous Pacific Shipping Pty Ltd and LCL Logistix Ltd who introduced their companies. We also took the chance to invite Mark Millar who gave his keynote about his industry outlook on the Sea freight industry.
The third day of the conference was nice and casual as we explored the city of Bangkok in the morning where we visited the Grand Palace. During this time the security at the temple was more heightened after the recent death of the Thailand’s King, as many locals and tourists visited to pay their respects.
It was nice to meet everyone in the outdoors for a chance, a refreshing day to hang out and get to know each other better outside of the typical working environment.
In the evening, we decided to have a sunset cocktail session along the Chao Praya River, which was the river along our official conference Hotel Shangri-la. The cruise allowed us to explore the waterways of Bangkok and have a glimpse of Thailand’s beautiful capital city from the water.
The entire last day of the event was scheduled to accommodate the high-in-demand Face-to-Face meetings for delegates to get to know each other better. We are honored to have started this wonderful journey with you. It is our challenge to grow Neptune to a more complete network by next year. With the encouragement of our delegates we look forward to a continued success.
We would like to thank all supporters of the network for making Neptune an instant success. At Neptune Cargo Network, we will continue to pursue our goal to being the choice network for sea freight consolidators & professionals worldwide.
